Hey everybody and Happy New Year. If I’ve given you a card recently and you came to this site, first of all, thanks!
I have launched a new project called WorkingInMusic. (I’m still building the site.) I will be talking with folks who make their living in the music business. They could be anything, an elementary school music teacher or a multi-platinum producer. Doesn’t matter.
I’ll talk to them about how they got to where they are and where they want to go. It’s going to be epic.
Stay tuned. Follow me on Twitter at twitter.com/workinginmusic. My Facebook fan page is here.
You can contact me at james@workinginmusic.com
Yes we have video? I won’t bore you with the saga of getting this video made. It was a team effort. I can’t thank Avril and Andrew enough for helping me out on this. I had the vision and they helped it come to life. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Happy New Year!
Thanks to my good friend Doy, I have a new and improved bio. Have you ever written your bio? It’s not easy. Now I’m learning Final Cut Express. It’s proving challenging and I need some help. Once I get my video done I’ll be ready to launch. So very soon I will tell every single person I know about this site and my music.
No, it’s not a bad M. Night movie, it’s the launch of Whispers and Megaphones! So much is going on. This Friday I will film a video introducing the world to me. Last night I performed at an open mic in town and I’ll have footage of that. The music video we shot in December 07 is going to be edited soon.
I’m about to leave for Kenya! Finally it’s happening. Praise be to God!
This all started with me looking for a roommate. A friend of a friend came by the house. She was a musician and she asked to hear some of my music. I played some for her.
She asked me, “Why is your voice hidden by reverb and delay?”
I said, “I don’t like my voice.”
“There’s nothing wrong with your voice, you just need some confidence. You should take voice lessons and you’d be amazed at what it would do for you,” she suggested.
So I took her up on the her suggestion. I found a teacher. She kicked my butt. The lessons helped me develop as a musician and songwriter.
This first batch of songs all came out of that one suggestion. Now, a year and a half later I’m putting the songs out here for the world to hear. I’m anxious to share them. I hope you enjoy them. I welcome your feedback. Go to the music page to hear what I’ve got for you.
